Bill’s "Seal-A-Meal" Stamp Mounting System
First: You need a "Seal-A Meal II"
Unfortunately They don’t make them any more. Fortunately you can still get them at thrift shops usually at around $3 to $5. I always buy one every time I see one. Do not buy the small one where the heating element Raises and lowers with the top. They might work, but I have never succeeded with one.
Second: You need Plastic Sheets.
At first I used the regular poly interleave that you would buy from stamp dealers. Then they quit making them. You may still be able to get them at a stamp dealer from old stock. The best bet is at your local office supply store, Office Max, etc. You can pick the weight of the sheet that you like.
Make Sure You Get Archival safe.First Step: Take the tape off the heating element
Second Step: Put two sheets in machine. Try to keep the sheets straight.
Third Step: Hold Cover Down and count, 1;2;3; etc. Doing this lets you know the best time to end the heating. When you pull the sheets out they should come apart "Easily" on the heated line. If not heat longer. Continue to heat using a stamp as your guide. When you begin use only "Cheep" stamps. It is easy to burn stamps so until you become a expert use only throw away stamps. Only seal three sides always leave one side open
Fourth Step: To mount Stamps
Use peelable labels. You can buy them at office supply or any supper market. Get the size you like. I use the same size as a stamp hinge.
